I underestimated how many adventures could fit into a single year, but 2025 quickly became a year to remember.
At the start of the year, I made a simple decision: I would write a blog, beginning on the 1st of January. What I didn’t realise was how far that decision would take me, not just around Scotland, but across Europe. From the north coast of Scotland to Belgium, Italy, and Poland, I travelled with a camera in hand, finding adventure in unfamiliar places and learning to appreciate my own company along the way.
The idea of solo travel once terrified me. Now, it drives me. What began as hesitation became a desire to explore further, to see more of the world, and to embrace the freedom that comes with travelling alone. At the same time, 2025 wasn’t only about solo journeys. Many adventures were shared with friends, creating lasting memories and bonds that will stay with me long after the journeys ended.
This year wasn’t defined solely by travel or photography, but by discovery of new places, new perspectives, and a new version of myself.
A 2025 Story is a record of that journey. It is one of the most meaningful mementos I could ever give myself, and I hope it encourages others to find the courage to explore, to travel, and to step beyond what feels familiar.
